Floods have hit several areas in the Yan district of Kedah. The floods have left some houses submerged in knee high waters, and some with severe damage to their homes and vehicles. 10 villages were affected by the flash floods. JKM has been assisting the people of Yan get back on their feet with the help of NGOs, however due to the Covid restrictions things have been difficult. Adding to this is rainfall is predicted to continue in the next few weeks, making clean up very difficult.
As-Siddiq Aid has managed to collect just over RM 20,000 to help aid 20 houses purchases household items that were damaged in the recent floods. We have allocated RM 1,000 per home, used mostly to buy furniture and appliances needed for daily use. May Allah SWT help ease it for the people of Yan and may He grant them with even more than what was lost.
